St. Louis Blues forward Ivan Barbashev will have a hearing Friday for a hit to the head of Boston Bruins winger Marcus Johansson during Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final, the Department of Player Safety announced.
The play occurred early in the first period and Barbashev wasn't assessed a penalty. Johansson, who does have a history of concussions, was able to stay in the game.
If Barbashev gets suspended, it will be the second ban on a Blues player in the Cup Final. Forward Oskar Sundqvist was handed one game for a hit from behind on Matt Grzelcyk in Game 2.
The series gets back underway Sunday at 8:00 p.m. ET with the Blues holding a 3-2 edge.
