Brent Seabrook will be a healthy scratch for the second time in his career on Sunday when the Chicago Blackhawks take on the Los Angeles Kings, according to The Athletic's Mark Lazerus.
The veteran blue-liner has scored one goal through nine games this season while averaging 17:39 of ice time.
Fellow defenseman Dennis Gilbert, the Blackhawks' 90th overall selection in the 2015 draft, will draw in for Seabrook.
"We want to get Gilbert in, and it's a back-to-back," head coach Jeremy Colliton said of the decision, according to The Athletic's Scott Powers. "It's a good opportunity to give Seabs a rest and see what Gilbert has."
The 34-year-old Seabrook still has five years left on the eight-year, $55-million contract he signed in 2015.
