Quinn Hughes will miss Saturday night's game against the San Jose Sharks, reports Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
The Vancouver Canucks defenseman suffered an apparent ankle injury Friday against the Anaheim Ducks when he fell awkwardly after getting his skate caught in the ice.
Hughes was ruled out for the rest of that contest with what the club classified as a "lower-body" ailment.
The 20-year-old phenom is traveling on the Canucks' road trip but the team recalled fellow blue-liner Oscar Fantenberg earlier Saturday.
Hughes leads all Vancouver rearguards and ranks second behind Cale Makar of the Colorado Avalanche for the league lead among rookies with 10 points in 13 games this season.
