Blues trade Fabbri to Red Wings for De La Rose
The St. Louis Blues dealt forward Robby Fabbri to the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for forward Jacob de la Rose, the clubs announced Wednesday night.
Fabbri, a healthy scratch multiple times this season, managed only one goal and no assists in nine games with the Blues in 2019-20. Last spring, the 2014 first-round pick scored a goal while appearing in 10 playoff games for St. Louis, helping the Blues win the Stanley Cup.
The 23-year-old's been plagued by injuries early in his career, having been limited to 155 regular-season contests over the previous three campaigns. However, he produced 15 points across 20 postseason games during his rookie year in 2015-16.
De la Rose was a late scratch from Detroit's loss to the New York Rangers on Wednesday. He tallied one goal and four points in 16 contests with the Red Wings this season.
The 24-year-old was in his second campaign with Detroit, who claimed him on waivers from the Montreal Canadiens in Oct. 2018. The Canadiens selected De la Rose 34th overall in 2013.
