Bortuzzo suspended 4 games for cross-checking Arvidsson
St. Louis Blues defenseman Robert Bortuzzo is suspended four games for repeatedly cross-checking Nashville Predators forward Viktor Arvidsson on Saturday, the NHL's Department of Player Safety announced.
Bortuzzo was assessed a two-minute minor for the play, which occurred in the first period. Arvidsson exited the game with a lower-body injury and has since been ruled out of action for four-to-six weeks.
This marks Bortuzzo's third suspension in the NHL. The 30-year-old was booked for two games in 2014 as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins for a high hit on Jaromir Jagr before missing two preseason contests and one regular-season game in 2018 for an elbow on Michal Kempny.
Bortuzzo has appeared in 11 games for the Blues this season, notching one assist while averaging 12:25 of ice time per contest.
Arvidsson has registered six goals and nine assists in 22 games this year for the Predators.
