The Sting were an awful team this past season, finishing last in the Western Conference. Perreault was a lone bright spot, though, as he ranked 11th in the OHL in goals and tied for second among draft-eligible players.
Perreault, the son of longtime NHLer Yanic Perreault, has one of the best shots in the entire draft. He can rifle a wrister on the rush and blast one-timers from his off wing on the power play. However, there are concerns about his skating, consistency, and defensive play.
What they're saying
"There are stretches in games where he can look slow from a standstill and a little heavy-footed. There are others where, once he gets moving, he shows some real speed and can burn defenders," said The Athletic's Scott Wheeler. "There are shifts where he looks competitive and engaged off the puck and others where he gets caught looking a little too passive."
