Perfetti burst onto the OHL scene as a 16-year-old in 2018, scoring the most goals at his age since John Tavares, Steven Stamkos, and Taylor Hall - pretty good company. He's followed up his incredible rookie season with another fantastic year, finishing in second in the league in both points and assists in 2019-20.
The 18-year-old is one of the best playmakers in the draft. His body and physicality are nothing to write home about, but that's no issue thanks to the immense skill and vision he possesses on and off the puck. Perfetti makes magic happen everywhere on the ice and has proven that he can both score and pass at elite levels.
What they're saying
"An elite hockey brain and an abundance of character will allow him to transition easily to the NHL. It may not be as early as next year, but down the road, he's a top-six player all day long," according to Sportsnet's Sam Cosentino.
"He can score, he can make plays, and his skill is elite," wrote ESPN's Chris Peters. "But what I like best about Perfetti are his vision and offensive sense, giving him the ability to pick apart opposing defenses on the rush or in the zone."
