Robertson to make NHL debut in Game 1 of Leafs' qualifying series
Nick Robertson will make his NHL debut on a big stage.
The Toronto Maple Leafs forward will be in the lineup for Game 1 of their qualifying-round series against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday, head coach Sheldon Keefe confirmed, according to Sportsnet's Shawn McKenzie.
Robertson will be the first 18-year-old to debut in the postseason since Jarome Iginla did so in 1996.
The teenager played in Toronto's exhibition game earlier this week and has been practicing regularly on the third line alongside Alexander Kerfoot and Kasperi Kapanen.
He's coming off an incredible season with the OHL's Peterborough Petes, during which he recorded 55 goals and added 31 assists in 46 games.
The Maple Leafs selected Robertson with the 53rd pick of the 2019 NHL Draft.
