The Ottawa Senators signed defenseman Josh Brown to a two-year contract that carries an average annual value of $1.2 million, the team announced Monday.

The Senators acquired Brown, who was a pending restricted free agent, from the Florida Panthers last week in exchange for a fourth-round pick.

The 26-year-old recorded three goals and five assists in 56 games with the Panthers last season while averaging 13:25 of ice time per contest.
