The Montreal Canadiens have signed defenseman Victor Mete to a one-year contract worth $735,000, the team announced Friday.
Mete was a restricted free agent after finishing his entry-level contract this past season.
The 22-year-old registered 11 points in 51 regular-season games before the pause, logging 16 minutes per night.
Mete was the Habs' fourth-round pick in 2016.
