Blackhawks sign Kubalik, Subban to 2-year deals
The Chicago Blackhawks signed forward Dominik Kubalik and goaltender Malcolm Subban to two-year deals Friday, the team announced.
Kubalik's deal carries a $3.7-million cap hit, while Subban's new pact is worth $850,000 per season.
Kubalik, 25, finished third in Calder Trophy voting after posting 30 goals in 68 contests for the Blackhawks this past season.
Subban appeared in one game for Chicago after being acquired from the Vegas Golden Knights last campaign. The 26-year-old, who owns a career .899 save percentage across 66 contests, will have a chance to compete for time in the Blackhawks' crease next season with the team recently announcing it won't bring back longtime starter Corey Crawford.
Forward Dylan Strome, a restricted free agent, is now the only player left to sign on Chicago's books.
