Wild games postponed through Feb. 9 as 5 players hit COVID-19 list
The Minnesota Wild won't play through Feb. 9 due to COVID-19, the NHL announced.
Minnesota forwards Nick Bjugstad, Nick Bonino, Joel Eriksson Ek, Marcus Johansson, and captain Jared Spurgeon were placed on the league's COVID-19 protocol list Wednesday, according to Sportsnet's Chris Johnston. Marcus Foligno was already on the list.
Getting placed on the list doesn't necessarily mean a player tested positive.
The Wild played in Colorado on Tuesday night. From here until Feb. 9, Minnesota was scheduled to take on the Avalanche again, Arizona Coyotes twice, and St. Louis Blues.
All Wild team facilities remain closed until further notice. The league hasn't announced any makeup dates for the postponed games.
The NHL has delayed numerous contests due to COVID-19 this season, with the Carolina Hurricanes, Dallas Stars, Vegas Golden Knights, and New Jersey Devils among the teams to have dealt with outbreaks.
