The Ottawa Senators traded defenseman Mike Reilly to the Boston Bruins in exchange for a 2022 third-round draft pick, the team announced Sunday.
The Bruins have suffered numerous injuries to their blue line lately, with a number of the team's top defensemen nursing ailments. With Charlie McAvoy, Matt Grzelcyk, and Brandon Carlo sidelined, these were Boston's defensive pairings in Sunday's 8-1 loss against the Washington Capitals.
Reilly has zero goals and 19 assists in 40 games with the Senators this season. The 27-year-old's amassed eight goals and 64 assists in 244 career games.
