Senators trade Dadonov to Golden Knights for Holden, 3rd-round pick
The Ottawa Senators traded forward Evgenii Dadonov to the Vegas Golden Knights for defenseman Nick Holden and a third-round pick in 2022, the team announced Wednesday.
Dadonov has two seasons remaining on his contract with a $5-million cap hit. He joined the Senators for the 2020-21 campaign after six seasons with the Florida Panthers.
He notched 20 points in 55 games for Ottawa, and has 222 points in 335 NHL contests. His best years came in 2018 and 2019, when he posted 65 and 70 points, respectively.
Holden is under contract for the upcoming campaign and earns $1.7 million. He'll be an unrestricted free agent when his deal expires.
The 34-year-old appeared in 17 games for Vegas last season, registering two assists. The Alberta native has played 10 NHL seasons, and has had stints with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Colorado Avalanche, New York Rangers, and Boston Bruins.
