The Minnesota Wild have signed defenseman Alex Goligoski to a one-year contract worth $5 million, the team announced Wednesday.
Goligoski spent the last five seasons with the Arizona Coyotes. He's coming off a 22-point campaign that saw him lead Arizona with 108 blocked shots and rank second with 23 minutes of ice time per game.
The 35-year-old brings a solid blend of offense and defense and could be a suitable replacement for Ryan Suter, who signed with the Dallas Stars after being bought out by the Wild.
Goligoski has totaled 83 goals and 346 assists in 924 career games.
