Toews joins Kane, 3 other Blackhawks players in COVID-19 protocol
Three days after the Chicago Blackhawks placed their best player in COVID-19 protocol, their captain joined him on the list.
The Blackhawks placed Jonathan Toews and fellow forward Henrik Borgstrom in the protocol Tuesday. Both players missed the day's practice as a result.
Patrick Kane landed on the list Saturday and missed Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Detroit Red Wings, along with forward Jujhar Khaira and defenseman Riley Stillman.
Three Blackhawks coaches have also been in the COVID-19 protocol since the weekend.

Being on the list does not mean a player has tested positive for COVID-19.
Chicago forward Ryan Carpenter and blue-liner Erik Gustafsson entered the protocol Saturday but were removed before Sunday's contest.
The Blackhawks are 0-5-1 and have yet to lead in a game this season. Chicago now holds the record for the longest streak without a lead to start a season since at least 1979-80.
The Blackhawks are scheduled to host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday.
