Getzlaf passes Selanne as Ducks' all-time points leader

Ryan Getzlaf has cemented himself even further in the Anaheim Ducks' record books.

With an assist against the Montreal Canadiens during Sunday's 4-2 win, Getzlaf officially passed Teemu Selanne as the franchise's all-time leading scorer. The point was Getzlaf's 989th of his career in his 1,111th game.

Teammates poured onto the ice to share the moment with the 36-year-old.

Troy Terry, who scored the goal that Getzlaf assisted on, shared what it meant to be a part of the moment postgame.

"I still have chills from it, that was one of the coolest moments of my hockey career," Terry said.

"I grew up watching Ryan Getzlaf, and to have such a big moment for him and to be part of it - I was telling you guys before I forgot that I even scored, it was just fun to be a part of it. And as soon as it happened, just being able to jump into his arms too, that was awesome."

Getzlaf has spent his entire career with the Ducks since being drafted with the 19th pick in the 2003 NHL Draft. He helped guide the club to a Stanley Cup victory in 2007.
