PHOTO: Jaroslav Halak unveils new mask

Following in the footsteps of many of his peers, St. Louis Blues goaltender Jaroslav Halak is going with a new design on his helmet for the upcoming season.

In Goal Magazine has some exclusive photos of the new headgear, which was painted by Montreal-based artist David Leroux of Diel Airbrush.

Halak, who is a Taurus, has decided to go with a bull breaking through a brick wall as the primary image on his new lid.

The design also features both a glove and blocker on opposite sides of the helmet, with the Blues' logo also coming through the white bricks.

The Slovakian will battle for time in the crease with both Brian Elliot and Jake Allen this season, so it remains to be seen just how much fans will get to see this impressive new design in action.

Halak battled a groin injury last season, featuring in only 16 games, which gave the aforementioned duo an opportunity to cement their status as legitimate options for the number one job in St. Louis.

While he is expected to go into the season as the starting goaltender, the former Montreal Canadiens shot-stopper will certainly need to improve on his .899 save percentage from a year ago.
