Heiskanen will undergo further testing Friday. DeBoer said the injury won't require surgery and isn't season-threatening for the club's No. 1 blue-liner.
The Stars are already without starting netminder Jake Oettinger, who's been week-to-week since mid-December.
Heiskanen has recorded 27 points in 37 games this season and ranks sixth among all NHL blue-liners in average ice time at 25:03.
