The Los Angeles Kings selected winger Liam Greentree with the 26th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft on Friday.
Liam Greentree
Greentree is a big power forward with the puck skills of a much smaller player. He uses his soft hands to create scoring chances for himself and his teammates. The Oshawa, Ontario, native also possesses a heavy shot that should help him become a scoring threat in the pros. He's very effective around the front of the net.
The main question mark about Greentree is his skating. He doesn't play with a lot of pace, and if he can't improve his stride, he may not become anything more than a bottom-six winger. Despite his large frame, he isn't overly physical, either.
