GIF: Datsyuk scores lovely goal, acts like he's been there before
In the first period of Wednesday night's game between the Buffalo Sabres and the Detroit Red Wings, Red Wings wizard Pavel Datsyuk did something totally unremarkable (by his standards).
The sequence started with some nice forechecking work by Red Wings defenseman Jonathan Ericsson. Ericsson's pressure forced a rushed zone-exit pass, which Datsyuk - the perennial Selke nominee - expertly intercepted.
Datsyuk then proceeded to do Datsyuk things: weaving through Sabres defenders like they weren't even there, and then beating Ryan Miller top-shelf with a backhand shot that might best be described as cruel.
The most enjoyable part about the entire thing though? The way Datsyuk barely even celebrated. In fact, Datsyuk's "celly" more closely resembled an unimpressed shrug than a fist-pump:
