Utah's Marino out for months with upper-body injury
The tough injury news keeps on coming for Utah, as head coach Andre Tourigny announced Friday that defenseman John Marino is going to miss months with an upper-body ailment, per KSL's Ryan Miller.
Utah acquired Marino from the New Jersey Devils during the 2024 NHL Draft in exchange for a pair of picks. He has yet to debut for his new team as a result of his injury.
Marino appeared in 75 games with the Devils last season, totaling four goals, 25 points, 41 takeaways and 89 blocks while averaging almost 21 minutes of ice time per contest.
The 27-year-old has amassed 107 points and is a plus-38 in 328 career NHL outings, split between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Devils.
Marino joins fellow rearguard Sean Durzi on the sidelines. The latter remains out of action for the foreseeable future with an upper-body issue. He hasn't played since Monday against New Jersey.

Utah owns a 3-1-1 record on the season and has lost back-to-back contests. The club will square off against the Boston Bruins on Saturday at 9 p.m. ET.
