New York Islanders forward Anthony Duclair is expected to miss four-to-six weeks with a lower-body injury, the team announced Thursday.

Duclair suffered the ailment during last Saturday's 4-3 shootout victory over the Montreal Canadiens. He took an awkward fall in the third period of the contest and appeared to be favoring his right leg as he was helped off the ice.

Duclair logged two goals and three points in his first five games as an Islander while spending the bulk of his time on the top line with Mathew Barzal and Bo Horvat.

New York signed Duclair to a four-year deal with a $3.5-million cap hit as an unrestricted free agent this past offseason.

The 29-year-old missed the bulk of the 2022-23 campaign with an Achilles tear.

Duclair has amassed 148 goals and 306 points in 568 career NHL games, split between the New York Rangers, Arizona Coyotes, Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Ottawa Senators, Florida Panthers, San Jose Sharks, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Islanders.
