Penguins' Jarry to start vs. Blue Jackets after AHL stint
Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry will start Friday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets, according to team reporter Michelle Crechiolo.
It will mark Jarry's first NHL appearance since Oct. 16. He was sent to the AHL on a conditioning loan after a miserable start to the campaign in which he recorded an .836 save percentage and 5.47 goals-against average in three games.
Jarry went 4-1-0 with a .926 clip in the minors.
The Penguins used Alex Nedeljkovic and rookie Joel Blomqvist between the pipes in Jarry's absence. Pittsburgh ranks 27th on the season with an .882 save percentage.
Jarry is in the second season of a five-year, $26.88-million contract. He was a second-round pick of the Penguins in 2013 and owns a .911 save percentage in 260 career games.
The Penguins are seventh in the Metropolitan Division at 6-9-3.
