Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Seth Jones has been placed on injured reserve with a foot injury, head coach Luke Richardson told The Athletic's Mark Lazerus.
Jones blocked a shot in Thursday's loss to the Seattle Kraken. There's no timeline on when he might return, but players put on IR must miss a minimum of seven days from the date of the injury.
Jones has logged 10 points in 17 games this season and is averaging a league-leading 25:43 per contest. The 30-year-old is in his fourth season with the Blackhawks after being acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Chicago enters Saturday's contest with the Vancouver Canucks in seventh place in the Central Division at 6-10-1.
