Lightning's Point good to go vs. Penguins
The Tampa Bay Lightning will have star forward Brayden Point back within their ranks Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Penguins, head coach Jon Cooper announced, according to team reporter Gabby Shirley.
Point missed the previous four games with a lower-body injury after exiting last Sunday's 7-4 loss to the Winnipeg Jets. The Bolts went 2-1-1 in his absence.
The 28-year-old took up his usual spot on the top line between Jake Guentzel and Nikita Kucherov at Tuesday's morning skate.
Point has recorded eight goals and 13 points in 12 games. He's logged four tallies and seven points in his last five outings.
His 566 career points in 592 games since his debut season in 2016-17 are the third most on the team over that span, while his 272 goals are the most.
The Lightning occupied third place in the Atlantic Division with a 9-6-1 record prior to Tuesday's action.
