Kaprizov misses contest vs. Stars with lower-body injury
Minnesota Wild superstar Kirill Kaprizov is day-to-day with a lower-body injury and didn't suit up for Friday's contest against the Dallas Stars.
The Wild were off for the holiday break after Monday's 4-3 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks. Kaprizov scored a goal and led all forwards with 22:09 minutes of ice time during the contest.
Head coach John Hynes revealed Kaprizov was banged up before the break, though he doesn't expect the winger to be sidelined for much longer, per The Athletic's Joe Smith.
Kaprizov missed one game with a lower-body ailment in November, but Hynes said he's now dealing with an unrelated injury.
The 27-year-old is one of the league's top players through the first few months of the campaign. He's tied for second among all skaters with 23 goals and ranks fourth with 50 points in 34 outings.
Kaprizov has factored in on almost 50% of the Wild's 104 goals so far this season. He has paced Minnesota in points in each of the last four campaigns.
