Leafs' McCabe injured in fight in win over Flyers
Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe missed the final two periods of Sunday's win over the Philadelphia Flyers due to an upper-body injury.
McCabe fought Garnet Hathaway in the final seconds of the opening frame and was in distress after falling to the ice. He didn't return for the second and was ruled out for the remainder of the contest.
McCabe exited the ice under his own power.
The 31-year-old missed five games earlier this campaign after being hit in the side of the head with a puck. McCabe plays on Toronto's top shutdown pairing alongside Chris Tanev, and he has recorded 11 points in 35 contests while averaging over 21 minutes per night.
The Maple Leafs and McCabe agreed to a five-year, $22.57-million contract extension earlier this season.
