Watch: Fans taunt Gauthier after Drysdale scores on Ducks
Jamie Drysdale exacted revenge Saturday, scoring against the team that traded him nearly a year ago to the day.
The Philadelphia Flyers defenseman snapped a 26-game goal drought when he tallied against the Anaheim Ducks with less than two minutes remaining in the first period.
The fans in Philadelphia immediately made their feelings known about whether they prefer Drysdale or forward Cutter Gauthier, who went the other way in the surprising swap after choosing not to sign with the Flyers.
Earlier in the game, the Flyers faithful booed Gauthier mercilessly when he stepped onto the ice for his first shift.
The Ducks traded Drysdale and a 2025 second-round pick to the Flyers for the signing rights to Gauthier on Jan. 8, 2024.
Flyers general manager Daniel Briere confirmed at the time that Gauthier wasn't interested in signing with the club.
Philadelphia ultimately crushed Anaheim 6-0 on Saturday night. Drysdale added a secondary assist on Matvei Michkov's goal that made it 5-0 in the third period.
