Ottawa Senators forward Shane Pinto sustained an upper-body injury in the first period of Tuesday's clash with the Tampa Bay Lightning and didn't return for the remainder of the contest.

Pinto went straight to the dressing room after a hit from Nick Perbix along the boards.

Pinto's notched 11 goals and 11 assists in 45 games this season. He lined up as Ottawa's third-line center Tuesday. The Senators recently lost fellow pivot Josh Norris on a week-to-week basis due to injury.

The Lightning moved within two points of the Senators in the Atlantic Division standings by securing a 4-3 victory.
