Bruins' trade candidate Frederic week-to-week with injury
Boston Bruins forward Trent Frederic is week-to-week with a lower-body injury, head coach Joe Sacco announced.
Frederic is a pending unrestricted free agent and is considered one of the top centers potentially available ahead of the March 7 trade deadline. He was hurt during Tuesday's loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The 27-year-old has a $2.3-million cap hit and has notched eight goals and seven assists in 57 contests this season, a decline from the 18- and 17-goal outputs he produced the previous two years.
Frederic is most known for his physical game - he ranks second on the Bruins with 155 hits in 2024-25.
The Bruins are in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time since 2015-16. They sit two points back of a wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference and have played one more game than each of the teams they're chasing in the standings.
