The Washington Capitals landed pending unrestricted free-agent forward Anthony Beauvillier from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick, the teams announced Friday.

Washington still owns the Boston Bruins' second-rounder at this year's draft as a result of the Garnet Hathaway trade in February 2023.

Beauvillier carries a $1.25-million cap hit. He's recorded 13 goals - 12 of which have come at even strength - and 20 points in 63 games this season while averaging 13 minutes of ice time per contest.

The 27-year-old has racked up 129 goals and 266 points in 613 career outings, split between the New York Islanders, Vancouver Canucks, Chicago Blackhawks, Nashville Predators, and Penguins.

Beauvillier played for three teams in 2023-24 and was traded for a fifth-round pick on two occasions, per Tribune-Review Sports' Seth Rorabaugh. He chipped in with one goal and one assist in six playoff games for the Predators last spring.

This is the second trade between Pittsburgh and Washington this season. The Capitals acquired forward Lars Eller from their Metropolitan Division rivals in November for a 2027 third-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round pick.
