Jets' Vilardi week-to-week with upper-body injury
Winnipeg Jets forward Gabriel Vilardi is week-to-week with an upper-body injury, the team announced Monday.
Head coach Scott Arniel specified the ailment isn't from the puck hitting Vilardi's ear Sunday against the Buffalo Sabres, according to Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Free Press.
Vilardi has been a staple on Winnipeg's top line this season alongside Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor. Vilardi has notched a career-high 27 goals and 61 points in 71 contests in 2024-25, his final year under contract before becoming a restricted free agent.
The Jets acquired Vilardi from the Los Angeles Kings in 2023 as part of the return for Pierre-Luc Dubois.
Winnipeg leads the Western Conference with 100 points and is two back of the Washington Capitals in the Presidents' Trophy race with 11 games to go.
