The Colorado Avalanche signed forward Taylor Makar to a one-year, entry-level deal for the 2025-26 season, the team announced Monday.
He'll play out the remainder of this campaign on an amateur tryout with the AHL's Colorado Eagles.
Taylor is the younger brother of superstar defenseman Cale Makar. He played for the University of Maine this season, accumulating 18 goals, including six game-winners, and 30 points in 38 games.
The 24-year-old spent the previous three campaigns with the University of Massachusetts Amherst, racking up 15 goals and 22 points across 85 combined outings.
Colorado selected Taylor in the seventh round of the 2021 NHL Draft.
