Gabe Perreault joining Rangers on entry-level contract
Gabe Perreault is turning pro.
The New York Rangers signed their top forward prospect to a three-year, entry-level deal, the team announced Monday. He'll report to New York.
Perreault ranked second on Boston College with 48 points and led the team with 32 assists in 37 contests this season, his second with the program. He was electric in his rookie campaign, potting 19 tallies and 60 points across 36 appearances.
Boston College was eliminated from the NCAA tournament after a 3-1 loss to Denver on Sunday.
The Rangers selected Perreault with the 23rd overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.
The 19-year-old won back-to-back gold medals with Team USA at the 2024 and 2025 world juniors, chipping in with three goals and 10 points in seven games at each tournament.
It's been an odd campaign for the Rangers, who currently sit just outside the playoff picture with a 35-32-7 record, one year after winning the Presidents' Trophy as the league's best regular-season team.
They have the same amount of points as the Canadiens (77) in the second wild-card spot, but Montreal has one game in hand.
New York has eight games remaining on its schedule, beginning Wednesday against the Minnesota Wild at 7 p.m. ET.
