Logan Thompson starts Game 4 after exiting previous contest

Washington Capitals goaltender Logan Thompson started Game 4 against the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday night despite exiting the previous contest with an apparent lower-body injury.

Thompson needed to be helped off the ice after Capitals forward Dylan Strome crashed into him in the third period of Washington's 6-3 loss Wednesday.

The netminder surrendered five goals on 35 shots before departing. Thompson was fabulous in Games 1 and 2, recording a .951 save percentage and 1.47 goals-against average across both victories.

Thompson was considered a game-time decision heading into Game 4 and was in the starter's net at morning skate, though he left the ice at the same time as running mate Charlie Lindgren.

Washington held a 2-1 series lead entering Sunday's tilt.
