Jets' Scheifele, Stars' Robertson both game-time decisions
The Winnipeg Jets and Dallas Stars could both be getting key reinforcements for their series-opening clash Wednesday.
The Jets' top center, Mark Scheifele, and Stars winger Jason Robertson are considered game-time decisions, according to Sportsnet.
Scheifele missed the last two contests of the Jets' opening-round series against the St. Louis Blues after taking big hits from Brayden Schenn and Radek Faksa in Game 5.
The star forward was a regular participant in Wednesday's skate, putting in work on Winnipeg's top line and power-play unit. He was also slotted between Kyle Connor and Gabe Vilardi on the Jets' projected lineup card.
Scheifele recorded two goals and six points through five contests before getting hurt. He ranked second on the Jets with 39 goals and 87 points while appearing in all 82 outings in the regular season, trailing only Connor in both offensive categories.
Winnipeg dropped Game 6 to St. Louis by a 5-2 score, but the club rebounded with a wild 4-3 double-overtime victory in Game 7 to eliminate the Blues.
Robertson, meanwhile, has yet to make his 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs debut after suffering a lower-body injury in Dallas' regular-season finale. He led the team with 35 goals and ranked second with 80 points while appearing in all 82 games.
The Stars topped the Colorado Avalanche in seven games in the first round despite Robertson's absence. He's racked up 14 tallies and 38 points in 45 career playoff contests.
While Dallas might get Robertson back, star defenseman Miro Heiskanen will remain out for Game 1.
As for the Jets' blue line, Josh Morrissey is also a game-time decision after exiting Game 7. He was in discomfort during the first period after a collision with Oskar Sundqvist and left the matchup outright after laying a hit on Mathieu Joseph soon after.
Morrissey didn't participate in line rushes Wednesday.
The puck drops on Game 1 at 9:30 p.m. ET in Winnipeg.
