Canucks retain Boeser on 7-year, $50.75M deal
The Vancouver Canucks and free-agent forward Brock Boeser agreed to a seven-year contract worth $7.25 million per season, the team announced Tuesday.
Boeser was widely expected to hit the market as one of the top UFAs available this summer. Late in the regular season, he said a return to Vancouver was "unlikely."
Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin shopped Boeser before March's trade deadline but said a deal never materialized due to weak offers.
Boeser notched 25 goals and 25 assists last season, a step back from his 40-goal, 73-point output in 2023-24. The 28-year-old has been a consistent scorer since entering the league, topping 20 tallies in six of his nine NHL seasons.
Vancouver drafted the Minnesota native 23rd overall in 2015.
The Canucks also signed goaltender Thatcher Demko and forward Conor Garland to new contracts Tuesday, but theirs won't kick in until the 2026-27 season.
