Coach Joel Quenneville was determined to get Khabibulin in the lineup for a start during the team's road swing through Florida, and it seemed like a logical choice to give him the start against the team he helped lead to its lone Stanley Cup trophy in 2003-04. Khabibulin has seen just one start in the team's first nine games but was steady when called upon, holding the Islanders to two goals on 19 shots in an Oct. 12 win.
