Veteran face-off specialist David Steckel has been released by the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League, and will head to Norfolk to join the AHL's Admirals. The Admirals are the AHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, who have signed Steckel to an AHL deal.

In Saku Koivu and Matthieu Perreault, the Anaheim Ducks have a couple of centers on the shelf at the moment. Steckel has played previously for Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau with both the Washington Capitals and the Hershey Bears.
