New Jersey Devils goaltender Jacob Markstrom will be sidelined "a couple of weeks" with a lower-body injury, head coach Sheldon Keefe announced Wednesday.
Markstrom last played Monday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. He relieved Jake Allen in the third period.
The Devils recalled netminder Nico Daws to fill in while Markstrom's unavailable.
Markstrom is 2-1-0 on the young season with an .845 save percentage. He missed significant time last year due to an MCL sprain.
The 35-year-old is in his second campaign with the Devils after being acquired via trade from the Calgary Flames. He's scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent next summer.
The Devils return to action Thursday against the Florida Panthers.
