Wolf: 'I can't generate offense' for struggling Flames
Calgary Flames goaltender Dustin Wolf lamented his club's inability to score following Wednesday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Montreal Canadiens.
The Flames fired 37 shots on goal but lost for the seventh time in eight games to start the season. Calgary ranks last in the NHL with 12 goals for.
"I mean, I can't generate offense," Wolf said when asked about his club's woes on the attack, per Sportsnet's Eric Francis.
"I do my job, I try to keep the puck out of our net, and hope that our guys can generate a couple. I'm glad we got one there. We got a point, but we've got to keep working to find more offense."
The Flames had the 29th-ranked offense last season but nearly made the playoffs as a wild-card seed thanks in large part to Wolf's stellar rookie year. He owned a .910 save percentage in 53 starts en route to a runner-up finish in Calder Trophy voting.
Wolf is yet to find his footing in the new campaign, however, making saves at a .875 clip with a 3.61 goals-against average.
The Flames return to action Friday against the Winnipeg Jets, looking to snap a seven-game losing skid.
