Petrell signed a one-year extension with Edmonton on Tuesday, according to the Edmonton Journal.

Petrell played in 60 games last season, mainly on the fourth line. He led the forwards in hits and doesn't mind blocking shots but scoring is unlikely anything he is ever going to excel at.
