Report: Senators plagued by poor attendance
The Ottawa Senators reportedly recorded their lowest attendance in nearly a decade during their loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday afternoon.
Ottawa reportedly had its smallest crowd since '04 yesterday. St. Louis is playing to 86% capacity. Cause for worry? http://t.co/RtP3RPm5ho

According to an article in The Hockey News, the Sens hit a low of 15,535 fans at a Canadian Tire Centre that seats 19,153. According to numbers gathered by espn.com, the team ranks last in attendance among Canadian franchises and is 20th in the league.
The Sens eliminated their discount offers this season, abolishing the 2-for-1 deals and the bonus tickets for season-seat holders. Now the 44-game package includes that and only that.
Contributing to the decline is an increased number of afternoon games, which Sens president Cyril Leeder says will increase revenue from the local broadcasting deal they have with Sportsnet.
The Senators are down an average of 1,850 fans per game since last season.
