VIDEO: Canucks F Henrik Sedin finishes off one-timer while falling
Vancouver Canucks captain Henrik Sedin, arguably the best NHL playmaker of the past decade, isn't known for the velocity or the accuracy of his shot. But in the second period of Friday night's game between Sedins' Canucks and the Phoenix Coyotes, the Swedish-born center sent a rocket one-timer at the Coyotes net that flummoxed goaltender Mike Smith.
The play itself was a comedy of errors. It began as a three-on-two odd-man with Sedin flanked by his brother Daniel and Ryan Stanton, a defensive defenseman who was handling the puck.
Stanton - being a defensive defenseman - promptly gave the puck away to Coyotes defenseman Keith Yandle but made a nice play to retrieve the puck and send it over to Daniel. Daniel then fed Henrik for the one-timer and the Canucks captain got all of it, even though he was in the process of falling down:
It was pretty much the Nick Bonino shootout attempt of successful odd-man rushes...
