Red Wings F Johan Franzen going through concussion protocol
Detroit Red Wings forward Johan Franzen left Sunday evening's game between the Red Wings and the Tampa Bay Lightning after being hit in the head by a glancing blow from Lightning defenseman Radko Gudas.
According to Red Wings head coach Mike Babcock, Franzen sustained a head-injury and is currently going through concussion protocols.
The Red Wings are already down a handful of useful forwards with Darren Helm, Justin Abdelkader, Henrik Zetterberg, and Stephen Weiss all on the shelf nursing a variety of ailments.
