Maple Leafs F Joffrey Lupul apologizes to paying customers after blowout loss
Following a 7-1 blowout loss at home to the New York Rangers on Saturday night, outspoken Toronto Maple Leafs winger Joffrey Lupul expressed his embarrassment and even apologized to Leafs fans.
"We apologize to the people that paid money to see us play like that," Lupul said on behalf of his teammates. "It’s embarrassing. Getting booed off the ice first period, second period and the end of the game, and we deserved it."
The Maple Leafs, one of the league's worst possession teams, were outshot 50 to 26 in the loss.
