Czech Republic names 2014 Olympic men's ice hockey team
The Czech Republic named 25 players to their men's Olympic ice-hockey team on Monday. While there were some notable snubs like Calgary Flames leading scorer Jiri Hudler and Phoenix Coyotes forward Radim Vrbata, the roster mostly featured long-time Czech national team members like Jaromir Jagr, Patrick Elias, Ales Hemsky and... Petr Nedved?
Yes, the 42-year-old former NHL forward - who is no longer a point per game player in the Czech professional league - was also named to the team. The 2014 Sochi games will be Nedved's second Olympic games, but his first representing his native country. Nedved represented Team Canada at the 1994 Olympics in Lillehammer.
