GIF: Sabres F Scott penalized for throwing puck into Panthers' net

Sabres enforcer John Scott is no stranger to the penalty box, entering Thursday's contest against the Panthers with 371 penalty minutes in 204 career games.

He found a new way to get sent there during the first period on Thursday, when he was whistled for unsportsmanlike conduct for tossing the puck into Florida's net while lying on the ice after a post-whistle scrum.

The referee's decision might have been a little harsh on Scott, who has two career goals as a 31-year-old who has played in parts of six NHL seasons. Considering those numbers, throwing the puck might be the only way Scott can make sure it ends up in the net.

The Panthers were unable to capitalize on Scott's antics.
