Oilers G Scrivens lashes out at reporter on Twitter after trade
When Ben Scrivens was traded to Edmonton from the Los Angeles Kings just yesterday, twitter exploded with the news. A reporter from Sun Media, Tony Vasquez-Peddie wrote an article embedding Scriven's wife's tweets about loving the weather in Los Angeles.
The article made it seem like Jenny Scrivens, Ben's wife, did not like Edmonton and comments on the article went even further to say she was lazy and refused to move to Edmonton.
On Thursday night after a loss to the Minnesota Wild in his Oilers debut, Scrivens took to twitter to express his dismay with the article.
"Hey [Tony Vasquez-Peddie], classy move writing a slam story by cherry-picking tweets my wife sent to make it seem like she doesn't like Edmonton. You're gutless. And to those of you who commented on the article or tweeted at her about how she's lazy (even though she's not in Edmonton now because she has a full-time job in LA she can't just up and leave) or that she married rich (even though we got married while I was playing in the AHL) or that she's dumb (she's an ivy league graduate school grad), just know I'm embarrassed. I am to say that you are an Edmontonian. Way to make my family feel welcome." Ben Scrivens via @scrivens_30
